SparkrOS

More than fault codes. A clearer path to the cause.

Sparkr brings vehicle information, technician observations, recommended tests, and diagnostic results into one workflow. Instead of stopping at possible causes, it helps your team work through the evidence and decide what to check next.

1

Start

Sparkr Link connected

The job starts with this vehicle, not a generic P-code.

With Sparkr Link connected, available vehicle data sits in the same workspace the technician uses to diagnose. Sparkr Link reads generic powertrain OBD-II: VIN, stored, pending, and permanent codes, freeze frame, and standard live data. It does not read ABS, SRS, body modules, or OEM-enhanced data, and it does not replace a multimeter, scope, or OEM scanner.

  • VIN

Identifies the vehicle on the bay.

  • Powertrain DTCs

Stored, pending, and permanent codes from the PCM.

  • Freeze frame

The snapshot captured when the code set.

  • Live sensor data

Standard OBD-II PIDs — fuel trims, MAF, MAP, RPM, temps, and more.

2

Reason

Guided diagnostics

Work through the evidence. Decide what to check next.

Sparkr compares codes, live-data behavior, freeze-frame, and the complaint. It recommends a next diagnostic test and shows the reasoning. The technician still decides and still performs the test. The ranking below is an illustrative case, not a calibrated probability.

Illustrative case

2016 F-150 3.5 EcoBoost

  • CodesP0107 + P0122
  • SymptomStall at idle · intermittent no-start
  • Meter reading5V reference at 1.1V, entered by the technician

Example ranking, not a measured probability

Two sensors failed together. A shared 5V reference is the first thing to check.

  1. 1 5V ref shorted on MAP branch Check first
  2. 2 Chafe at splice S108 to ground Also possible
  3. 3 PCM 5V supply collapsed Check later

Example next test

Unplug MAP and recheck the 5V reference with a meter

Act

Next-best-test guidance

What to test. Why it matters. What the result means.

Each recommended test includes the action, the reason, the tools, the expected result, pass/fail interpretation, and the next diagnostic branch. The technician still performs the work. Sparkr keeps the branch from dying on a sticky note.

What to test

The highest-value action on this vehicle, right now.

Why it matters

How the result would confirm or kill the leading hypothesis.

Required tools

Meter, wiring diagram, smoke machine — named before the tech leaves the bay.

Expected result

The reading or behavior that would count as a pass.

Pass / fail meaning

What the outcome proves, and what it does not.

Next branch

Where the path goes if the test does not close the case.

On electrical jobs, the same guidance can sit on the circuit that matters — where to put the meter, what you should see, and what the reading means.

Junior · tap to explain

Interactive teaching graph of a MAP 5-volt reference circuit The powertrain computer feeds 5 volts on a gray-red wire. The wire splits at splice S108 to the MAP sensor and the throttle. A harness chafe after the splice shorts that branch to chassis. Signal and ground wires stay on the sheet but are muted. The circuit that matters

One 5V feed. The rest of the sheet goes quiet.

PCM C175B pin 24 sends 5 volts on GY/RD. That is the job. Signal and ground stay drawn so you still see the diagram — they just are not this test.

Evidence

Proof loop

Capture evidence. Update the hypothesis. Narrow the uncertainty.

When the technician records a result, Sparkr updates the diagnosis. Confirmed paths rise. Disproven paths drop. The case does not jump to a parts list until the root cause is proven.

Context Hypothesis Test Evidence Root cause Verify Learn EVIDENCE LOOP
The code starts a loop, not a guess. Each result updates the diagnosis until the root cause is proven and the fix is verified.
5

Close

Repair verification

Confirm the fault is actually resolved before the case closes.

A replaced part is not the same as a proven fix. Sparkr keeps post-repair vehicle state in the same case so the shop can show the fault is gone — not just that work was performed.

A replaced part isn't a proven fix. When the fault is proven first and the repair verified, the car doesn't come back on the shop's dime.

Record

Reporting

The case file is the proof, not a pile of screenshots.

Diagnostic evidence, tests, results, root cause, repair, and verification stay together. The shop can share case history without reconstructing the job from memory.

The completed case stays with the shop.

When a diagnosis is confirmed, the case can stay on file so a later similar complaint can be compared with what was already proven. Sparkr does not replace the technician’s judgment, and a stored case is not a promise that the next job will be faster.

  • The complaint, tests, and result stay on the case
  • A later similar job can be compared with that record
  • The technician still confirms the cause on the vehicle in the bay

Why Sparkr

From possible causes to the next diagnostic decision.

Scan data tells you what the vehicle is reporting. Sparkr helps your technician decide what evidence to gather next, interpret the result, and move the diagnosis forward.

  • What the scan reports

Fault codes, freeze frame, and the powertrain data Sparkr Link can read.

  • What the technician checks

The meter, scope, diagram, or service procedure the next test actually needs.

  • What Sparkr keeps moving

The recommended check, the recorded result, and the updated assessment on the same case.
